HIPAA Compliance

As a student in the College of Nursing at the University of St. Francis, you are required to abide by the health information privacy requirements of a federal law called HIPAA. All clinical agencies require that students are trained and familiar with the HIPAA regulations.

Nurses take expanding roles in all aspects of health care and continue to be in greater demands compared to other health care professions. Nurses are making impacts locally, nationally and globally to ensure safe and effective care for all, particularly the vulnerable and underserved populations of the world.

At the University of St. Francis Leach College of Nursing, we continue to excel in the provision of quality academic nursing programs that are exciting and rigorous at all degree levels. We produce nurse leaders who work in various spheres and levels of society, nurses changing the world and the lives of their patients daily. Our pre-licensure, face-to-face program provides students with a supportive foundation for nursing. All our post-licensure programs (including the R.N.-BSN) and all graduate programs are delivered in a mostly online and/or hybrid format to provide ongoing educational opportunity for working registered nurses to become advanced practice registered nurses.

Our experienced, vibrant faculty are enthusiastic and utilize diverse, interactive, current, and evidence-based educational technology to facilitate learning for our students. Our highly acclaimed simulation center provides students with progressively challenging simulated experiences in a supportive learning environment.
